Kickin’ Back & Stayin’ Ground!d

Thanks again to Ground!d for throwing another successful BBQ. There was so much going on today but thanks to everyone who came out to support.

Moria got a few burns from the BBQ-ing and I guess you can say this is behind-the-scenes footage of what might be on the Ground!d BLOG.

The guys from Defined came out to enjoy the food and the company. It looks like Dave was being really rude talking on his cell-phone while they were trying to conversate with him, but it just LOOKS that way. He’s actually one of the nicest guys around.

Kenny, the Ground!d model, getting prettied up and ready to serve you.

And now for a couple of SKETCHPAD sneak peeks for the anxious fans. COMING SOON.

What is that on Adam’s head? Is it? NOOOO WAYYYYY…

We can’t show you EVERYTHING now, but you can make out the next shirt from here with whatever you can visibly see.

And of course, the ‘BEAR’ of the hour…

Sugar-Free Gummy Bears

We notified you of the upcoming Ground!d store tee release a couple of weeks back, and now they’re here. LIMITED RUN!!!

As always, you can either pay them a visit at the shop or head to the ONLINE SHOP. Who knows? If you cop all four tees, you might be able to take Kenny the MODEL home with you.

Just An Ordinary Ordinary

So because I don’t have a camera at this time, I’ve been using Kuizzy’s to take and upload pictures onto my laptop. Sometimes we get so caught up that I don’t get my hands on the pictures right away, hence the reason for these random footages. These are ‘unreleased’ images of what we’ve been doing the couple of weeks ago when there weren’t any misadventures being posted on the blog. There was the HellzBellz sale. Nike Exhibition. And everything in between.

This is very exclusive SKETCHPAD WRAPPING PAPER. Only ONE-of-ONE in the world and Ilyn was the fortunate one to take this home.

As I was posting the images up for this blog, I realized that you can totally see the evolution of our poster-boy, Adam. He went from being very hairy in the first picture to being almost completely bald.

Friday Night Lights : The MOVIE

Now you can experience our life through real-life action. Lee and Kuizzy battling it out on Street Fighter. Check out their battle stance. Enjoy.Vodpod videos no longer available.

Friday Night Lights

I think I’m one of the few people who’ve never been into playing videogames of any sorts. Last night, Kuizzy and I went over to Lee’s place and what started out as just a simple hang-out turned into an all-night game-fest of sorts. Street Fighter was on the television arcade-style. Everyone was linked up and battling it out on Tetris. Poker. Late night McDonald’s run. An even LATER night run to Del Taco at around 3:30AM. Everyone was frozen cold but that didn’t stop anyone from continuing on with the competitions. I hadn’t seen those guys in a while so it was nice to finally hang out like we used to do back in our high-school days. We ended up heading back out there earlier today to eat noodles Lee’s mother made, so it was like we never left. Oh, my mistake. Lee’s recently acquired himself a Mitsubushi EVO so he goes by his new alias now, LeEVO. Yea, really.

Made a quick stop to show John(GRNVLLE) how a stack of twenty-dollar bills looks like.

I saw this screen VERY frequently for at least a good hour or so. These guys are on a whole other level in Tetris. I didn’t know it was that serious.

We finally left for the night ( or morning ) and got a couple of hours of sleep before we all returned again. 6:19AM.

No Homo Tho’

The title speaks for itself here. Ivan. Jon. Ground!d has a LOT OF LOVE.

That’s all for now. I’m still getting used to this uploading and blogging vid-clips thing. I’m trying to figure out how I could’ve put all three clips into one blog. Sounds kind of lame, doesn’t it? You give it a try and tell me how to do it. I might offer you a free shirt. Consider it a contest of sorts. Anyways, more about our Summer Line. We’ve got stuff in production as I’m blogging this now and once we have the final products in our hands, we’ll give everyone a sneak peek as to where we’re at. Until then, thank you for your continued support. We shall be back shortly.

Cloverfield Style

Really nothing much going on here. I said I was going to post these clips a while back but I was having a ton of trouble with uploading them onto YouTube but I finally stopped being lazy for a change and threw them on here via Vimeo. So enjoy watching them as much as I’ve enjoyed recording and uploading them. UGH!

Street Non-Fighters

Sometimes when your creativity bursts all its juices out of your brain, you find yourself doing things like this in public. They say some of the best artists have some kind of disability which keeps them casted outside of a realm we’d like to call ‘normal’, BUT this is why you love us.

Popped Culture

Pop culture IS modern art. Ben Frost is the perfect example of what happens when you take MTV and celebrate it for everything that’s wrong with the media. Propaganda Pop. It’s always interesting to see how American POP culture is percieved in the eyes of those who are looking from the outside in. For decades upon decades, American (or Western) culture has been the powerful and influential trend-setter towards those of other countries. I remember watching old footages of Michael Jackson’s international concerts back in his hey-days and seeing a packed coliseum of Japanese fans singing along with Michael verbatim. What’s astounding with that is the fact that the majority of those fans do not speak english. No other country in any part of history has ever had a ‘pop’ icon with that much power to where Americans would be shouting a song in a language that’s foreigned to them.

As times have changed, we’ve seen a huge evolution in American media. Sadly, but truly, we are NOT the powerhouse we once were. Europe has become the go-to continent for fashions and trends. Asia has become the technological capital of the world. What went wrong?

I started this discussion based on a blog from The Hundreds and a Newsweek article written by Fareed Zakaria. As I was reading, the one thing that I remembered was this artist Ben Frost.
Frost has used popular American icons and collaged together pieces of propaganda that tells the ‘dirty’ sides of our entertainments. Everything tied in well with the death of American media and how we’re killing ourselves with bad reality shows and ‘ringtone’ music. From the outside looking in, we can relate to Ben Frost and say, in harmony, “What the HECK?” Have we become a laughing-stock?

This isn’t to say that everything ‘American’ is bad. We’re still a country thriving on creativity and making statements, but these things are not celebrated on the mainstream scale any longer. I find the most influential people in our society are the children who have no oppurtunities in their neighborhoods to progress. Some of the most talented people I’ve ever met are wasting away in jail-cells or drug addictions because sometimes, doing crime does pay for the moments when college degrees fail to put food on the table. We can still make it to the driver’s seat from here. Just don’t let the corporations know.

Just Like Candy

Here’s a sneak peek at GARY the GROUND!D GUMMY BEAR TEE arriving at the GROUND!D shop next week. Only a very limited amount will be released, as with all of their other shirts. For those who can’t make it to the shop but STILL want to wear a really nice shirt, you can check out their ONLINE SHOP.There’s a nice little story behind how ‘Gary the Gummy Bear’ became the store’s mascot and Moria would love to tell it to any new visitors to the store. I won’t spoil it for anyone because quite frankly — it’s that GOOD. More ‘gummies’ on the way so stay tuned.
