Nothing Is As It Seems

So we made our way to the Street Culture Fair in San Pedro and met up with some old friends, caught up with what everyone was doing, and had a chance to talk over some new projects. I loved Gally’s enthusiam over the whole event. I have to admit, the time and effort everyone put into making something out of this event was disheartening when the event-promotion was dismal.
Not to dwell upon the bitterness, we did manage to deliver some goodies to the table and I’m proud of our efforts, as well as everyone else in participation.

Charles (Phresh Produce) is going to become a more familiar face to the blog and the Sketchpad misadventures, so what better way to introduce him than to post a very candid picture of him not paying any attention to the camera.

Afterwards, we all headed out to the Jazz Melody Thai Restaurant out in Bellflower which is fully draped in very vintage accolades and concert posters which ranged from The Beatles to Miles Davis to Elvis Presley to everything in between. The atmosphere was very chill with some good ol’ jazz music playing in the backdrop to give it a really different feel from any other Asian restaurants I’ve ever been in. The food was great — of course, I tend to judge Thai restaurants for their Pad See-Ew noodles since that’s one of my favorite dishes at Asian eateries. We talked about our next event, the Art Walk LB in Long Beach’s art district next Saturday and improving on our set-up.

Want to see the end result of these pictures? Come to the Art Walk on December 13th to see for yourself. What else? We are anticipating the opening of our Online Shop by the end of the week also, so be on a look out for that.
