Paper Trail

One of last year’s most talked about album release was T.I.’s ‘Paper Trail’. Aside from what I heard on the radio, I didn’t pay the album much attention, but what I did notice was the album cover and the technicality of how it came about. Sure, it doesn’t look that great if you just take a swift gander, but the approach in design to keep it true to the album title was impressive.

Do you see what I’m talking about now? The artist behind the design is Mr. Ian Wright who works with mediums that are out of the norm to create portraits and amazing images which become more breath-taking the farther you are from them. He’s worked with Givenchy, Issey Miyake, and crafted an amazing portrait of Angela Davis, as seen here using 1000 lashes:

Great site to browse around when you’re bored on the computer. He’ll quickly become your favorite artist sooner than later, as his works have already found its place in my brain’s archive of goodies. The one thing I take away from these pieces is it’s a reminder that art is limitless and you can always create with whatever you have as long as you let your mind float in the midst of your imaginations.
