Behind The Scenes

I’m excited to see this movie, as I am with a lot of animated films. What I loved about a lot of cartoons I grew up watching, and reading, were the adventures each story takes me and making my imaginations burst out of ordinariness. The plot of this story is Oz-ish, as Coraline is taken into a dream-world when she unlocks a secret door in her new house. What’s most amazing about this movie is that it’s the first stop-motion full-length animation shot with stereoscopy technology — which is the art of making an illusion of depth using two-dimensional imagery– with a dual-digital camera rig. Sounds confusing? Well I got great news for your curious minds.

On Saturday, February 7th, some of the movie’s production team will hold an exhibition and a discussion panel where they will break down the production and artistic processes it took to make the movie a success. Sure to be a very interesting and educational event for all.

Artists in attendance will include: Andy Schuhler, Chris Appelhans, Dan Krall, Jon Klassen, Shane Prigmore, Shannon Tindle

210 E. Main St.
